Painting update

An artist never sleeps....

Well I've been doing alot of work on my wacom. I can tell that I'm getting better with each new project I work on.

I'm also a member at Epilogue.com and have yet to do anything (including my photo manipulations) that hasn't been rejected by them. So I'm marking my progress there on each of my works here at deviant gallery until I reach my goal of haivng one acceptable by their standard.

I'm getting alot of great feeback at GFXArtist too and here at deviant that helps me better my technique. Thanks everyone!

As for my writing, I'm still moving forward but slowly. I had a book recently released at Cobblestone Press called Something Wild for our Octoberfest month - an erotic paranormal historical set during the Jack The Ripper murders. Louisa Gallie did the cover art for this book and its absolutely gorgeous!

We work with alot of great artists at Cobblestone and they constantly amaze me with their dedication and skill.

I will be adding more and more to my gallery here - I've dedicated myself to producing at least one new work a week. Now if I could get that dedicated with my writing!

Yes, I've been doing art...lol

I've added a couple of works that I've completed recently. I'm discovering just how impatient I really am. It took me two hours to do the portrait images and I was just about ready to beat the hell out of the woman before I finished. LOL I do not know how some of these artists can work on something for 8-10 hours without losing their minds.

I'm also writing so it's been a good creaive boost in my life.

And today, Cobblestone Press received RWA acceptance as a non vanity publisher. YAY! Very excited about that. We needed some good news after a stressful week.

I hope to have some more art to add soon.

Long Time No Journal

I know I know I'm a loser

I've just been swamped with Cobblestone Press and all the going ons over there that I've not had alot of time for journaling and art. I just finished the covers for our big Vampire Oracle Card project. I'm very pleased with how those covers turned out.

So I'm still trudging along. Life is good. I sold a book to Ellora's Cave under the pen name Amon Bieste and am VERY happy with the sales so far. I'm actually making enough from the sales of all of my books together to start paying off some bills! As of August, our credit cards are paid off (cue heavenly music from the rafters). We have a couple of loans, both under 10K together so no biggie, that we want to get paid off next. And then the house...which makes my head hurt when I think of how much it will cost to pay THAT one off.

I've got lots of books in the works right now...it's ridiculous really...a few vampire romances, a western cowboy romance series, another Salacity book, and another Amon Bieste book for EC.

I hope to take some time soon - probably after September to start a large art project here. I've gotten better with my tablet now and am much more comfortable using it now. :D

SO hopefully I can get some new stuff up for everyone to take a gander at over the next few months.

What's new with Sable?

Things have been pretty busy for me lately. We are gearing up for the one year anniversary bash at Cobblestone. During this three day event on June 1-3, we'll be releasing the first issue of CPQ Magazine that I've been putting together, and officially announcing a new series at Cobblestone, one that I've almost completed all 25 covers for.

I recently installed Bryce and have made a couple of images. Trying to learn all the features of the program. It's very cool.

So that's what's up with me. Things are going great!

Bit by the Tube

Okay, so inspired by the speed drawings...I've now decided to do a weekly video at YouTube to show how I create cover art. The first video is already available...just my introduction though. The next will be a few demonstations on how I do certain things when making a cover.

Yes I know I'm dorky. Yes I know my hair looked like witch hair. And my webcam sucks. LOL
